Managing the Unsubscribe List

Written by the Wyra team · Last updated March 2026

The unsubscribe list is one of the most important levers in Wyra — a safeguard that ensures your campaigns never reach the wrong people, no matter how many campaigns you run or how broad your targeting gets.

Why it matters

Outreach at scale needs boundaries. This is how you set them.

When your AI SDRs are running multiple campaigns simultaneously, the risk of accidentally contacting someone you shouldn't is real. The unsubscribe list is how you draw those boundaries once and enforce them everywhere, automatically, across every campaign you ever run.

Two levels of control

Block broadly with domains. Block precisely with email addresses.

Domain blocking

Exclude an entire organization

Add a domain and every email address at that domain is excluded from all campaigns — past, present, and future.

e.g. adding competitor.com blocks john@competitor.com, sarah@competitor.com, and every other address

Email blocking

Exclude a specific person

Add an individual email address to exclude that specific contact — without blocking everyone else at the same organization.

e.g. adding cto@partner.com blocks only that person while others at partner.com remain reachable

Use both together. Domain blocking handles broad categories. Email blocking handles exceptions and individual opt-outs.

When to use it

Five situations where the unsubscribe list protects you.

Existing customers

Customers already using your product shouldn't receive cold outreach pitching what they've already bought.

Competitors

Reaching out to a competitor hands them your messaging, your positioning, and your campaign angles. Block their domains before your first campaign.

Opted-out contacts

When someone explicitly asks not to be contacted, add their email address or domain immediately. This is a compliance requirement.

Partners and investors

Organizations with a pre-existing relationship that makes cold outreach inappropriate — board members, strategic partners, investors.

Internal team members

Block your own company domain to ensure no AI SDR ever reaches out to a colleague.

How to manage it

One place. Simple controls. Applies everywhere.

Go to Settings Unsubscribe List. Add domains or email addresses using the + Add Domain or + Add Email buttons. Search and delete entries at any time.

Adding an entry

Click + Add Domain or + Add Email, type the domain or address, and confirm. Effective immediately for all future outreach.

Removing an entry

Click the delete icon next to any entry. Once removed, that domain or email becomes eligible for outreach again in future campaigns.

Applies to future campaigns only

Adding an entry excludes it from all future outreach. It does not retroactively remove contacts already active in running campaigns. Add entries before launching campaigns for the cleanest coverage.

Build your list before your first campaign

Start with your existing customers, your competitors, and your own company domain. Five minutes of setup prevents months of awkward outreach.
